SACE Emax 2 Remote Racking Device (RRD) is a remote racking solution by ABB for SACE Emax 2 circuit breakers, designed to enhance personnel safety. Available for E2.2, E4.2, and E6.2 sizes, the RRD operates the circuit breaker without requiring the operator to stand in front of the gear. It functions only when the circuit breaker is in the open position and with springs discharged. During rack-in operations, the RRD mitigates the risk of injuries due to potential electric arcs. The device has been tested by UL in accordance with UL 2876 and CSA-C22.2 No. 14 standards. It is controlled via a 10-meter cable, ensuring the operator remains at a safe distance from the arc flash boundary. A dedicated carrying case facilitates easy storage.
